Theatre Square is located at the corner of Sovetskaya street and Teatralny road. There are Tver Regional Academic Drama Theater, Tver Regional Academic Philharmonic Society as well as a Monument to A. S. Pushkin opened in June, 1972 in the days of Pushkin Poetry Festival. The author of the monument is sculptor E. F. Belashova. The Monument to Pushkin is the bronze poet’s head established onto a 3.5 meters height square section metal pillar. Initially the Monument was intended to be established in St. Petersburg on the place of A. S. Pushkin fatal duel near the Black River, but it was established in Tver after all.
