An open-air railway museum has opened at the Kuzhenkino station in the Bologovsky district. A retro steam locomotive takes guests to the new tourist object on Saturdays. On the way, passengers are accompanied by conductors and the head of the train, dressed in costumes of the 1943 model. You will have a souvenir cardboard ticket as a souvenir of the trip. The departure of the train is signaled by the striking of the station bell. During the trip, you can listen to a free audio guide, see an exhibition of historical photos about the construction of the railway, order tea or coffee.
The route provides a half-hour stop at the Kuzhenkino station. During the water intake by the locomotive, passengers will be able to see the historical ticket hall, the luggage compartment, the station operator's room and the kerosene cellar. Also along the railway line there are buildings of class III and IV railway stations, barracks, guard houses, pointsman's cabin and an active water tower.
Kuzhenkino Station is a historical one. Regular train traffic past it was opened in 1907. The atmosphere of that time has been preserved here.
The journey time is about three hours. To visit the museum, it is enough for tourists to buy a ticket (cost 295 rubles) in one of the following ways: at the ticket offices at the Bologoe station, in the train car, in the mobile application "Russian Railways for Passengers".
Every Saturday and Sunday, a steam-powered commuter train will depart from Bologoye at 9: 20 and arrive in Ostashkov at 12: 53, and then back at 15: 07, arriving in Bologoye at 18: 21. The schedule of steam locomotives is convenient for tourists from Moscow and St. Petersburg. On the morning "Peregrine Falcon" they will have time to arrive at the Bologoe station, visit the museum in the afternoon, and return home in the evening.
