The bell tower of St. Nicholas Cathedral

Kalyazin, st. Karl Marx

The bell tower of St. Nicholas Cathedral, which stood once upon a time on the Cathedral square of the merchant city, is a monument to the cities that went under the waters of the river. It is often called the monument to Tver Atlantis: in 1939 the creation of the Uglich reservoir led to the flooding of villages, settlements and partially of the city of Kalyazin.
