Valdai is a small Russian town nestled among picturesque hills on the shores of the beautiful Valdai Lake. Valdai is a popular tourism and recreation center with numerous tourist centers, boarding houses and the Valdai Dawns tourist complex. In 1990, in the vicinity of Valdai, the Valdai National Park was created to protect the lake-forest natural complex of the Valdai Upland. The magnificent Iversky Monastery, which is located on a secluded island, beautiful nature and excellent beaches, invariably attract tourists to this region.
