Monument to Ivan Andreyevich Krylov was opened on August 14, 1959 and located in the park over the T’maka River near the place where it inflows into the Volga. The authors of the Monument are sculptors S. D. Shaposhnikov, D. V. Gorlov and architect N. V. Donskikh. It is known that the fabulist I. A. Krylov lived in Tver from 1774 to 1783. The height of the Monument is almost 7 meters. Four steles, each having two high reliefs with well-known characters of Krylov's fables "The wolf and the lamb", "Pig under the oak", "The cuckoo and the cock", "The crow and the fox" are established on the sides of the Monument.
